Impressive Penmanship

I’ve been getting increasingly interested in fountain pens recently and came across this video showing some incredible calligraphy techniques. Until now I didn’t know that the tines (pieces of metal either side of the slit) on fountain pens could actually part (at least on some models) allowing the line thickness to vary on the fly depending on how hard you press the pen down. I’d love to give one a try however the models that have this feature like the Japanese Namiki Falcon featured in this video are rather expensive.
